Beds and North Herts Advanced Motorists
New Associate Members join Beds and North Herts Advanced Motorists through the Skill for Life scheme run by the IAM.
We have a panel of volunteer Observers who are trained and qualified to prepare Associate Members for their Advanced Driving Test.
When you join the Group, you will be assigned to one of our Observers to help you prepare for your Advanced Driving Test. We do this on a one to one basis by coming out with you in your own car, offering friendly advice on how you are driving, suggesting where improvements could be made, at times convenient to both of you.
We would normally expect a new Associate to be ready for test after about four to six sessions with their Observer, though there is no hard and fast rule about the number of sessions required except that your Associate membership normally only lasts up to a year.
